World Cup fever hit us hard a few months back, as we sat glued to television sets or any screen that would allow us to catch a glimpse of the glorious matches taking place throughout Russia. Nostalgic for the days when we hosted our own World Cup, we decided it was time to get Urbanart (our beloved brand) in the game. So, off we went in search of the perfect pair to show us the ropes. Luckily for us we got to pair up with some of SA’s hottest soccer stars, Wayne Sandilands and Zakhele Lepasa. With a desire to integrate our brand into the urban culture and lifestyle surrounding soccer, we just knew these guys were the ones to help us through our soccer adventure. Just as our What Kind of Urban Artist Are You campaign focuses on nurturing and giving a platform to Urban Artists, we wanted to give recognition to soccer as a beloved national sport. A day was spent dribbling, sprinting and learning the various kicking styles – we weren’t very good, but practise makes perfect right?
